Climate and Environment

It is critical that Australian growers are well placed to capitalise on opportunities and manage risks arising from climate policy and that industry has a clear position on our climate and sustainability credentials.
GrainGrowers will advocate for a clear approach for grower sustainability that ensures growers have ownership over how sustainability is defined, measured and promoted.
Policy Positions
Climate Change Policy
GrainGrowers climate change policy, endorsed by the National Policy Group, seeks to maintain Australian grains domestic and global competitiveness while reducing emissions and increasing carbon sequestration.
Natural Capital Policy
Natural capital underpins the productivity and long-term sustainability of the Australian grains sector. As major landholders, growers must be central in discussions on natural capital reporting and measurement approaches to ensure alignment with the unique characteristics and requirements of local production systems.
