Navigating volatile markets are one of the many challenges that growers face, and these workshops were designed to set growers up for success. The workshops were delivered by specialists from Market Check - professionals in research and analysis - covering the ‘A-Z’ of grain marketing.

GrainGrowers Grain Marketing Workshops were hosted across WA, SA, VIC, NSW and QLD.

Designed to cater for both experienced growers looking to brush up on their knowledge and farmers looking to upskill, these half-day sessions covered a snapshot of where the Australian Grains Industry sits on a world stage:

  • influencing factors on market fluctuations
  • introduction to basis and relative value
  • how supply chains have evolved
  • how the market is structured

Market Check also covered understanding and analysing grain markets, risk management fundamentals and risk management strategies including the use of the Personal Properties Security Register when selling physical grain. Particularly popular sections amongst attendees were the influencing factors on market fluctuations and introduction to basis.
