Every year, Wheat Quality Australia reviews The Wheat Variety Master List which contains the names of all varieties approved by the classification process by class and zone. The review process extends to "old varieties", or those classified more than 10 years ago and assesses receival volume.

Old varieties comprising 0.1% or more of receivals in any zone are retained on the Master List provided there are no quality issues. For old varieties comprising less than 0.1% of deliveries and those approved for removal can be delivered into the approved class for a further two years. After this time grain from these varieties will be received as "FEED".

The following table indicates varieties currently highlighted for removal from the Master List in 2019.

If you'd like to provide feedback on whether any of the highlighted varieties should be retained, please contact GrainGrowers on (02) 9286 2000 or email ua.moc.sreworgniarg@seiriuqne
