Grain growers looking to strengthen their leadership skills and contribute to industry boards and committees are invited to apply for GrainGrowers’ OnBoard program - a unique professional development opportunity running since 2021.
Growers interested in the program can register their interest through the GrainGrowers website, with applications closing on Monday, 19 January 2026.
The OnBoard program is fully funded by GrainGrowers and integrates a range of hard and soft skills training delivered by expert facilitators.
The course also provides governance training through the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), with participants able to complete either the Company Directors Course or the Governance Foundations for Not-for-Profit Directors Course.
OnBoard 2025 South Australian participants, Hannah Dabinett and Ruth Sommerville agreed that the program provided strong foundational knowledge about the role of directors and delivered a rich experience.
Ms Dabinett said the program was a great way to prepare for anyone wanting to become a director or get involved in industry bodies.
“The program gave me the confidence to step forward into board work, with a clearer understanding of the contribution I could make.”
Ms Sommerville urged anyone interested to consider applying and encouraged them to reach out with any questions.
“The program delivers a strong network of other AICD course participants and establishes a much better understanding of governance and Board management structures and processes,” she said.
