COVID-19 and Food Safety

Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) has provided an update on coronavirus and food safety.

Transmission through food is unlikely and so far there is no evidence that people have become infected by swallowing the virus in or on food or drink. However extra care should be taken with hygiene and health to reduce the risk, especially coming into busy periods where meals may be being prepared for employees in addition to family members.
