Farmer benefits of the Australian Wheat Quality & Variety Report

Grain farmers who provide samples for analysis enjoy the following benefits:

• The ability to benchmark their quality data against zone, state and national production and if, they contribute samples annually, their own production over time.

• Free, independent receival testing. GrainGrowers provides each farmer with the receival testing data for the samples they submit at no charge

Local input – global impact

A GrainGrowers survey of international wheat buyers revealed the provision of an annual crop quality report from Australia was their number one requirement. Australia’s major global competitors, the United States and Canada produce detailed reports of this kind of which wheat buyers rely on to make their purchasing decisions.

The Australian Wheat & Variety Quality Report aims to provide data similar to that produced by competitors. The objective is to meet customers requirements and maintain and hopefully grow our global market share.

Continuous improvement

The Australian Wheat Quality & Variety Report provides wheat, flour and end product data on Australia’s major wheat grades and leading varieties by state. This information assists Australia’s wheat classification system and wheat improvement programs.

It is important to measure the quality of Australia’s wheat grades in order to improve them.
