Changing of the Guard - New Deputy Chair

Narrabri grain producer Andrew Carberry will replace Boree Creek’s Steve Hargreaves as GrainGrowers’ Deputy Chair.

Mr Hargreaves stepped down from the role after he sold his farm recently.

GrainGrowers’ Chair John Eastburn thanked Mr Hargreaves for his hard work since he joined the GrainGrowers Board in 2009.

“Steve Hargreaves has worked tirelessly for the betterment of the grains industry. In particular I would like to thank him for his efforts in lobbying for the retention of The Rock to Boree Creek branch line.GrainGrowers wishes him all the best for the next stage of his life,” said Mr Eastburn.

The board voted to appoint Andrew Carberry as the new Deputy Chair.

Mr Carberry has more than 30 years’ experience in the grains industry and has been a partner in a mixed cropping and beef cattle operation for the last 15 years.

GrainGrowers is confident it has a solid and committed board and is looking forward to supporting Australia’s grain producers in 2013.
