The Australian Future Grain Leaders Program (AFGLP), an initiative of GrainGrowers, is a national leadership program designed specifically for the Australian grain industry and aims to develop the industry's leadership skills, knowledge and potential.

The AFGLP is designed to assist and work with individuals to develop, implement and evaluate their own integrated industry project with the ongoing support of a trained program facilitator as well as industry partners.

Open to young industry professionals, the AFGLP provides participants with the opportunity to:

  • Meet like-minded people in the grain industry;
  • Develop leadership knowledge and skills to drive industry involvement;
  • Gain an insight into the leadership pathways of established leaders and learn from inspiring speakers;
  • Develop a mentoring partnership with an industry leader; and
  • Set individual goals and implement a plan to achieve these via an integrated industry project.

GrainGrowers is proud to be providing opportunities for industry participants to embrace the challenge of leading and driving change in the Australian grains industry.

Program Facilitators

overview1 Jo Eady has extensive experience in facilitation and the development of innovative leadership and management strategies for industries and organisations implementing change.  Jo is currently leading organisational change programs for a range of commercial agribuisness companies and also facilitates the Australian Future Cotton Leaders Program for the Australian cotton industry.  She pioneered the first mentoring programs in Australia's agricultural and rural sectors in 2000. Since then she has supported over 250 mentoring partnerships and conducted a range of inhouse and public mentoring programs.
overview2 Dana Hughes is an experienced leadership facilitator. Dana is a also a qualified counsellor and an accredited Myers Briggs Type Indicator and Conflict Resolution facilitator.  She has developed and facilitated a number of leadership programs for small business, organisations as well as industries and communities. Dana has worked with Parks, local government and the education sectors in Victoria and New South Wales and has facilitated a number of programs in the retail and agricultural sectors including the Irrigated Industries Leadership Mentoring Program, she joined the Australian Future Grain Leaders Program team in 2009.  Dana is committed to providing leadership learning activities that equip and support individuals and organisations to transform and position themselves for a positive future and has specialist knowledge and skills in the area of career development, progression and transition.
