In 1958, the precursor of what was later known as the Prime Wheat Association was formed in Narrabri, in North West NSW.

The organisation was formed by a group of grain producers to establish and promote the segregation and payment for quality for high protein wheat.

Following a number of mergers and acquisitions within the grain industry, GrainGrowers was established and continues today with a commercial and commonsense focus of industry good activities for the benefit of all Australian grain producers.

As the Australian grain industry has grown and evolved, so too has GrainGrowers. As a driver of change, responding to the needs of producers and developments in the industry, GrainGrowers is now Australia’s largest grain industry organisation representing producers.
